Woof woof. Who is that howling?
Paul Williams has put out a book, with a big emphasis on sources and footnotes and a scholarly appearance. Professionally put together it seems. He warns that Osama has dozens of nukes within the United States already and that the "American Hiroshima" is coming soon.
A Copy Should be Placed by Every US Front Door!
When you finish this book you will be depressed as hell and then you will realize that you ought to spend every waking moment enjoying life.Paul Williams writes well about the end of the world as we now know it and he gives great footnotes and a wonderful index for those who are into checking and rechecking.

Very Educational
This was one book I did not hesitate to buy as I know so many people with the mental illnesses.
A caring and compassionate work
The former First Lady's book is a very compassionate effort which can help a person who has to deal with mental illness for the first time no matter what the setting.Mrs. Carter gives a good over-view of the "wholepicture" concerning all mental illness with enough detail to give thereader a good foundation in the subject.I think the really profound thingthat I read in every line of the book was the real sincerity that Mrs.Carter has for her work.She really is serious about changing the way somein society look at individuals with mental illesses.I applaud her for herwork and her book.

It's OK, but lacks detail
It is very broad in scope, but in my opinion it lacks depth. Specifically, there have been several times where I found it did not have goood detailed design info, especially related to practical example diagrams.

So much information, I don't know where to start.
I think this is an excellent book for, first, students and neophytes to learn some standard detailing and systems, and second, novice construction administrators and contractors needing help with some standard practices they might not have seen or know the whole ins and outs of.I will admit that it is not at a beginner level, and you do need some familiarity with construction to understand all of its articles, but the list of contributing editors is a who's who of construction standards, most of them being some sort of expert, whether they serve on buiding code commitees or are esteemed lecturers and each with multiple decades of experience. Author has huge experience in construction industry, but I expected something like a guideline - simple in structure, focused on essence. Topics are covered with plenty of words, could be simpler. However generally it is worth having this book.

This book is extremely well written, concise and incredibly practical. As a parent of a special needs child, my copy is dogeared with tons of stickies coming out the sides and highlighted paragraphs throughout. The unraveling of caselaw portions and the clear writing style help you understand the nuances of special ed law, expectations you can have, how to be smarter in and out of an IEP meeting, and how not to be bushwacked. Great resource for start ups
I work for an agency that provides business counseling for small local businesses.I frequently get calls from people in the trades who are starting their own contracting business after years of working on a crew.Just as frequently I get calls from their spouses who are taking on the bookkeeping aspect of the business.This is one of the resources I recommend especially if they haven't had much experience estimating, job costing, or dealing with homeowners.I've gotten lots of positive feedback from contractors and their partners. Several clients bought their own copy.The chapter on contracts has examples that are useful to other types of businesses as well. This book is well organized, has good examples, and it's written in plain English.
