Good solid book for both lawyers and educators.
This book is a must-have for educators. Since the push for inclusion means many students with disabilities are entering regular schools and classrooms with their peers, it is of great worth that the regular teacher as well as the special education teachers know the background of the laws that pertainto these students with diverse needs. It would be beneficial to bothstudents, teachers, and parents to know and understand how the laws areapplied in court, what an IEP is, what is expected of the teachers, andwhat can be expected of the students. I have the other major law books ondisability laws, but this one is more geared toward other participants inthe process besides lawyers. It is very readable and very understandablewithout having to go to law school to get a background in law first. Isuggest this or rather recommend this to my friends and students who areinterested in working with those with disabilities in regular schoolsettings. Pricey but essential
Revised, expanded, and essential to anyone in the building industry because these codes apply across the board, including virtually all states in the US.The IBC has replaced state and other building codes.This volume provides information in the English measuring system. I prefer the looseleaf edition to the bound volume because it folds completely open and you can leaf through the pages more easily, as you are constantly being referred from one section to another.Of course you will want to update your other international code books as well. ... Worth its weight in gold!!!
This book should be on every employer's bookshelf! I am so impressed by how comprehensive, well organized, and easy to use it is. Steingold really knows what he's talking about, he explains all of the complex laws and regulations that trip up unprepared employers and result in expensive lawsuits. Thanks to this book I learned the best ways to comply with OSHA, wage-and-hour laws, sexual harassment and discrimination laws, the Americans with Disabilities Act and many many more. You owe it to yourself to know your rights and responsibilities as an employer and to protect your company from needless litigation.

A mile wide and several feet deep
An excelent, readable, survey of the law on this topic.The greatest strengths of the book are two-fold.First, it is written in easy to follow, plain english.Second, it is amazingly comprehensive.I have been practicing employment law in two millenia, and this is the book that I use (after reviewing dozens) to teach non-lawyer classes on the topic. As with any survey book, it doesn't cover the details of the many topics it touches.You don't want to use this book to deal with comprehensive planning or an employment law dispute.But if you read this book you'll understand much of the language and many of the concerns of the experienced human resources professional or lawyer that you need.

Base Formula was successful
I am 50 years old and until my accident I have never had a wreck.I bought this book on Amazon.com about a year ago and followed it religiously to settle my claim.It worked.Thought I'd share this with others.
I'm so grateful to have this book
I just finished reading this book which my mother got me for Christmas.I had an accident a few weeks ago and was beside myself with worry over it.I didn't get hurt badly but my neck and back hurt a lot the next morning.My car wasn't so fortunate, though.

I think there are better books to use
This book is not for the person just getting an intiation into school law.It is too condense and only gives blurbs of the verdicts in each case by quoting the appellate and US supreme court judges which are oft times convoluted, the author leaves out an indepth explanation of the nuts and bolts.I refer to this book as the Reader's Digest version of school law.Also, the print is microscopic which is really hard on the eyes.

Comprehensive, Useable, and Readable
The book was a long read and made some challenging conclusions but provided me with specific, valuable knowledge in serious construction scheduling topics such as extension of time claims and time impact analysis.The examples included are many as are the case studies.The book opened my mind as to the significant capability the construction schedule can have on making or breaking the profitablility of a compressed project or one that is prone to delays.The book is a must read for consultants on the matter but also important to senior project controls staff. ... Helps you organize your child's educational plan.
This is a great book for learning how to develop an educational plan for your child.It teaches you many skills you'll need to give your child the best chance to succeed in school.
Advocating for your child
As a parent of a child with a disability, adding the word "advocate" to the many other hats that I have to wear is not appealing.However, reading this book gave me a clear path to follow in this endeavor.It is filled with practical advice that is simple to implement.It is easy to read.

An overview ith the details
This book breaks it all down. Time management, budgeting, deaking with staff and technical issues. For those in the field already, its a refresher and a confirmation of what you're doing. For those new to the field, it can serve as an operations manual for guidance. Appendix B that describes the job description is invaluable.

I'm not employed by a tax lawyer
This would probably be a great book for a law student, but not for a lay person. I consider myself to be fairly intelligent, but I had a bit of difficulty wading through this to find the little bit of info that I needed.I'm sure it's also a great book for someone with a tax background.

My Favorite Book on Multicultural Psychology
I bought this book years ago when it first came out.It remains my favorite text on multicultural psychology, and it has plenty of clinical insights that I've never found elsewhere.Apparently, it didn't become a classic, but it SHOULD have, along with it's companion, "Meanings of Madness."I think it is just a little too brilliant and insightful to fit easily into the standard, stale multicultural zeitgeist.
