Good for starting, but limited in space and somehow outdated
This book offers a good introduction to legal matters in the internet to people in any of the following situations: Good coverage of the field for layman and sysops

Simple and Direct Help
Tad Crawford has written a whole series of books out of his expertise in the law and creative arts, with a special focus on photography. I'd suggest looking at Tad's other books, too, since this one is more action-focused without extensive explanations of the whys and wherefores of it.

Don't waste your money
The book is simplistic and states the obvious; you can find most of the information for free on the web. Buy Allison Kaye's "Strategic Planning for Nonprofit Organizations" instead . It's well worth the extra money

Clear and full of key details
I've long been a fan of the Nolo Press legal guides, but when I came across this in a local library, I took it home for a read and was very impressed. In a very readable manner, it explains the various choices; it also has forms and state-by-state information. I'm involved with two groups considering nonprofit status and it brought out many good points we hadn't thought of.

A Practicle and Simple Resource
As a fan of self-help legal survival guides, I found this book very helpful. It's simple to read, only about 70 pages defining various types of nonprofit organizations, procedures for getting started and applying for tax-exempt status, and a bit on raising money and running a corporation.The appendices are actually the most helpful, listing websites, books,information on each state's requirements, and a section of forms includingtemplates for annual meeting minutes. A great overview for beginners
I am a real estate attorney and recommend this book to anyone who is new to the purchase and sale of real estate.This book is a clearly written explanation of the residential real estate purchase process from contract through closing. It will explain the terms used and the steps that must be taken, so that you will be able to understand what is happening and what has to be done.That being said, I would no more recommend that you rely on a self-help book to buy or sell your home, than I would recommend that you do your own electrical work.There is a lot at stake, and if you screw up, you will get burned.Read this book and hire competent professionals.

Good General Information
Interesting reading for those who are looking to buy or sell their own properties. Very general, but some valid points in contract creation.

I understand that Attorney Mark Warda has written over 60 books on real estate and the law, and this is just one of those books.He dissects the real estate contract between the buyer and the seller going over each and every clause and explaining its meaning in layman's terms.Read more

An ethical advocate for the service of Justice and search for truth
In comparison to Paul Bergman's legendry book "Represent Yourself In Court: How to Prepare & Try a Winning Case", this one is a legendary rival of a different flavor. The author entrusts his genuine instincts and writes as an advocate for the underdogs, needy, and less powerful in face of unfair, expensive, and complex system of justice. Unfairness stems from the persons in charge of delivering justice. The Author uses Judge Brian Duff as an example for personal effect on the service of justice.
Not recommended
This is a poorly organized book with enough obvious errors that one should not rely on it.Here are two examples:

Legal Guidance More Valuable Now Than Ever Before
The greatest value of this book will be derived from the guidance which the various forms which Battle provides because they will indicate precisely what information will be needed to complete them. In that sense, this book really is for "everyone" in need of such guidance. With regard to the forms themselves, it is important to keep in mind that there are three different codes of law in the United States and that some laws vary (sometimes substantially) from one state, county, or municipality to the next. Therefore, it would be prudent to obtain legal counsel to review the completed forms before they are filed. Obviously, thanks to Battle, the cost of such counsel will be substantially reduced. (The title of Chapter 2 is "Finding the Best Lawyer for You.") A significant value-added benefit is the CD-ROM on which all forms are contained. There is another, perhaps less obvious benefit: Careful completion of any of the forms enables those who do so to understand the legal context within which information is assembled. For that reason, I urge those who purchase this book to read all of the 24 chapters. Thoughtfully, Battle also provides an appendix for those seeking "Sources of Additional Information."

clear and to the point
While preparing to publish my second book (with number 3 on the way) I realized I needed some basic information about publishing and libel law.I found a copy of this book in the reference section of the law library at my university.The sections on libel were concise and to the point.I have not compared the book to other sources, but found it was very clear on the issues of importance to me.I've decided to order a copy to keep for reference, and I think it would be useful to most writers.

This order was received earlier than expected and has proved a useful reference guide.

Issues In The Workplace
The issues covered include the Family and Medical Leave Act, harassment and discrimination, drug testing, the Americans with Disabilities Act, unions, worker's compensation, dress codes and worker's rights.
Better than most other offerings
First, remember that the book was written in 1997. It's dated.It also appears to have been organized by dropping the sections together from around ten feet above the pages while standing in a strong wind - that is to say, the format and sequencingis not what it could be these days.

Good book from Amazon

A REALLY HELPFUL EASY READ
I had a small case and didn't want to turn a 1/3 of it over toa lawyer so I got this book. It explained step by step what to expect and do and I was able therefore to maximize value and minimize effort on my own claim.

Not for the ordinary people.
If you have been through law school, you'll be familiar with most of the terms used in this book. However, as someone said earlier, it will not teach you how to handle your personal injury insurance claim. Personally, the Nolo book is a little bit better. I have bought most of the books on the subject and for demand letters, forms, personal injury claim guide, do-it-yourself personal injury insurance claim, I had a better experience with SettlementCentral.Com (http://www.settlementcentral.com). USEFUL BUT.....
i will give this book five stars if only because of it's accuracy in detailing all information. HOWEVER, nobody should spend any more money than they already have (God knows how much money has been paid to get this far!) since ANY and ALL information written on this book can be found at the immigration website, www.uscis.gov.

Nothing new
I read the electronic version of this book in the library. In my opinion, it is nicely presented text, but I found no new information there. It you are familiar with the Guide to Naturalization by The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (available for free from WWW.USCIS.GOV in PDF format), you don't need this book. Questions and answers for Civic test are exactly the same, but in different order. Yes, examples in the book are different from those in the website, but still very obvious and straightforward.

Good Book
I ordered this book on January 2004. I read the review before I ordered it. This book is very useful for me because I wanted to know about the Law, Exam and Interview. It may be useful for new immigrants who've been for 5 years or more. I study this book since January. I went to Boston, MA on March 15th, 2004 for an interview. And guess what, I passed it. A fantastically fun and informative read
I picked this book up as a gift, but found it to be so much fun and really informative.So I guess I'm buying a second copy!The examples are a blast to read, and actually make you understand the legal issues.This book shouldn't be stuck in a legal reference section - it's too much fun.I highly recommend this book for anyone (not just legal people) - and it makes a great gift!
