4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but the problems are more than just mere annoyances
This book really does offer some solid studying tips and it contains a number of mock questions, which is very useful. However, there are some problems, such as that many of the pages are just plain crooked; that is,it's as though some less-than-conscientious person photocopied pages whiletelling someone about his/her weekend and didn't pay close attention to thejob at hand. It's a little off-putting. Also, I found at least one instancewhere the answer simply wasn't listed anywhere. And in at least one otherquestion, there were two answers that were exactly the same. This is noreflection on Mr. Martinson, save that it's his name on the cover. It meanssome pretty sloppy editing went on while the book was being put together. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Arco's books are most helpful
This edition will help you only if you have at least 2-3 months to prepare for LSAT. The explanations are helpful in reading section. The logical/analytical reasoning section offers great tips on how to solve the problems in minimal amount of time. Using those little tables/charts will help you sort out the wrong answers and point out the right one. This is the only way you can get the questions right, because you don't have much time to sit there and think about it thoroughly.2-0 out of 5 stars not much help
the reading comprehension section is OK, but the logic games section is no help at all.the book includes all these old styles of puzzles that the LSAT no longer uses, which is a waste of time, and only gives minimal advice on how to tackle the problems (write down all the information, make a chart-- um, duh).the sample tests at the end of the book even use the same problems as the example problems you studied with, so it's hard to know if you're improving because you actually learned something or you just remember that particular problem from the chapter.irritating. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Unhelpful
I have completed the Princeton Review's LSAT class (which uses actual *real* previous lsat's for their practice and homework) and this book's questions are not at ALL like the real LSAT questions - especially the arguments/logical reasoning questions. The games sections are somewhat helpful, but they mostly give examples of easier games, and the reading comp sections are much easier, as well ... someone who ONLY used this as their study guide would be majorly shocked on the day of the test and wouldn't do as well as they could have!

1-0 out of 5 stars Buy this for your enemies
This is a horrible study guide. The practice questions are not even remotely the same as those that appear on the actual LSAT.Even worse, they are substantially easier than the real questions leaving you woefully unprepared when test day comes. If you know somebody who you would like to see fail the LSAT, by all means get them this book. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Not as useful as it should be
While getting strategies and tips for the LSAT is nice, what I really want out of an LSAT book is lots of practice tests. This book has four full-length tests: a diagnostic test that comes before the "strategy" sections, and three additional practice tests at the end of the book. Also, after each chapter, there are exercises that let you practice a particular section of the LSAT. Unfortunately, I did the exercises before I took the practice tests, and I found that some of the questions are exactly the same. Since I had already seen some of the questions, my scores on the practice tests were probably higher than they would have been otherwise. I recommend that if you intend to take the practice tests to estimate your score, avoid the exercises or save them until you have taken all of the practice tests. Furthermore, there are errors throughout the practice tests. In the reading comprehension sections, the line numbers in questions such as "In line 29, word X is intended to mean..." are often simply wrong. On a timed practice test, it is very annoying to have to waste valuable seconds figuring out what the test's author meant to ask.2-0 out of 5 stars This could have been much better
Although this book boasts 4 full length exams and step-by-step coaching, it appears to be hastily put together and poorly edited. Some of the questions in the exams are woefully filled with errors, and the coaching section isn't that much better.I purchased this book along with several others to prepare for the LSAT and I must say that I'm pleased that this isn't the sole study aid I'm relying on.I'd suggest looking elsewhere for study aids, there are better ones out there.

2-0 out of 5 stars "ARCO -- Our Name Means Your [Bad]LSAT Score"
I have studied almost all of the LSAT study guides published and this is the worst. It is loaded with typos, omitted words, and various other errors.Given that verbal precision is the absolute key to the LSAT, this shortcoming is analogous to a math textbook with numerical errors.Beyond the accuracy issue, I found the practice tests to be, on the whole, a bit easier than the real LSAT.This may give you a false sense of security when you go in to take the real deal. Finally, the explanations for the "game" section tend to be largley unintelligable. The ONLY positive thing I can say about this book is that it is one of the only ones that includes an "experimental section," which means that you get more material for your money -- even if it is patently flawed material ...
