1-0 out of 5 stars A very poor choice.
The Princeton Review LSAT book suffers from many deficiencies. Chief among them are poorly constructed, badly worded, or just plain incorrect practice problems. This stems, in large part, from their tendency to generate their own practice problems, ('similar' to LSAT problems), rather than using actual LSAT questions from old exams released by the testing agency.
1-0 out of 5 stars Only if you're bored and desperate. Get Practice Tests 1st.
First--completely ignore the logic games section in thisbook and get "LSAT Logic Games Bible."Second, order 10 ACTUAL LSATs and 10 MORE ACTUAL LSATs from Amazon, and do at least 4 or 5 argument sections and 3 or 4 reading comprehension sections. If you're still desperate enough to buy everything you can concerning LSAT preparation, just to see if you can scrounge up tips from everywhere possible, waste $10 on a used copy if your library doesn't have a Cracking the LSATs (Mine had a 2003 copy).1-0 out of 5 stars Very poorly edited, and just plain wrong at times
The text of the book isn't that bad, although admittedly simple. But the CD, which has 4 of the practice tests on it, is terrible. Some of the questions have missing answer options or leave out essential information that you would need to solve the problem.I spent far too long on this, wondering what I was doing wrong, before I finally realized that it was a problem with the question itself.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother
This book is a disappointment. I took a free Kaplan test through my school, and it was the same one in the book. Most of the stuff is pretty explanatory, and you can learn more by getting a general LSAT book (I prefer Princeton Review to Kaplan). You don't get much out of only two tests. I would get the Princeton Review LSAT book and then buy real tests from LSDAS and try to find out why I got them wrong on my own. But believe them when they tell you the LSAT is important. It really opened doors for me.

4-0 out of 5 stars Kaplan 2 Real LSATs is a big help!
This book is essential for all prospective LSAT takers. It is superior to the LSAT Triple Prep by LSAC because it contains two real LSATs plus full explanations of each answer. The best approach is probably to use the Kaplan book first, and then use the skills you have learned with the Triple Prep tests from LSAC. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A quick read that will help 1L's tremendously.
This book is concise yet thorough giving you enough Law and Econ to do well in your first year courses without overwhelming you in minutia. The examples build on each other and Polinsky does a nice job of tying things together at the end of each chapter.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good introduction
I noted some time ago, in a review of Thomas Miceli's _Economics of the Law_, that this work is in some ways "orthogonal" to Miceli's. For one thing, Polinsky gives a fuller discussion of the Coase Theorem; for another, Polinsky at least raises the question whether there is some sort of tradeoff between "efficiency" and "equity." (The reader should be warned that neither of these terms means to an economist quite what it means to anyone else; "equity" in particular, as Polinsky himself is careful to explain, does not mean here what it means to a moral philosopher or a legal theorist.)5-0 out of 5 stars Really Well Written and Priced.
I originally bought Polinsky's book for a Law & Economics class in college and I feel this is a very good text on my favorite subject. One of the strongest aspects of this book is the writing is very accessible. Unlike some of his peers, I feel he writes not to impress or to complicate the subject with difficult machinations. Instead, his writing is directed at teaching you the concepts directly and forthrightly. You do not need to bring your economics decoder ring or your Black's Law dictionary to access the concepts or theories. The one weakness, and it isn't to most people, is that I would have loved to seen more visuals in the book. I am a visual learner and economics so easily lends itself to charts and visuals that I would have loved to see a bit more. Yet, I think Polinsky's writing more than makes up for any criticism such as mine. In fact, don't think of as a criticism, but think of it as a suggestion for his next edition. Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Analytical part is awful
The explanation and examples of the analytical part are mediocre at best; the truth is that they are no help at all: they will merely confuse you more. However. the logical/reading comp. sections are not as bad.

1-0 out of 5 stars Do not waste your time with this book
You are much better off with Kaplan or Princeton Review. The sample tests that Arco offers are not reflective of the actual LSAT (other books actually use real LSATs)and their explantions of the answers are not veryhelpful. The best prep is to buy the LSAC Triple Prep books.

1-0 out of 5 stars Analytical/logical reasoning help? You won't find it here!
I've wasted 10 of my 30 days to my LSAT with this book.15 years ago I scored in the 97th percentile in the analytical reasoning section of the GRE - I say this only to show that I'm not incapable of doing logicproblems.I expected the book to help me get my somewhat rusty mentalprocesses back up to speed.Instead, I was massivly frustrated by theirmuddy explainations of practice test answers and total lack of help inchoosing the correct answer.Explaining that answer "E" iscorrect, but not why A, B, C, and D are not and what tricks lurk in them isNOT helpful!Buy the Princeton Review's or Kaplan's LSAT book if you needlogic problem help, not this dud. By the way, despite what every LSAT booktells you about visiting the test site and doing a practice test in thevery room where your test will be held -- forget it.Security reasonsprevent test sites from giving out the room number! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A must read for potential law students!
Applying to and attending law school in Canada can be a challenging process. Unlike the many books that focus on the experience in the US, this book specifically looks at the Canadian system. 'So, You Want to Be a Lawyer, Eh?' outlines the process and offers tips to improve your results in the application process, at law school and in finding an articling position. I will be attending law school next year and I am confident that this book will help me succeed.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book
As a future Canadian law student, I was frustrated with the lack of guide material available to Canadian law students. All of the material I was able to find was aimed toward American students. Since there are some differences between the way the two countries educate their lawyers, it was important to find a book like this that addresses the particular elements of Canadian Law School.
5-0 out of 5 stars Superb!
The book is an absolute must-read for those considering pursuing a career in the law. A number of books address the topic in the U.S. context; however, this is the first book I have encountered that thoroughly addresses: (1) Canadian law school life, (2) tips that will help one land the articling position of their choice; and (3) work as an articling student and junior lawyer in Canada.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Keeper Book
This well-written book helps debunk any assumption that the title "Why Lawsuits Are Good For America"may contain an oxymoron.Mr. Bogus describes a common law system that is very recognizable to those of us who practice law in America today. Jurors take their responsibilities very seriously.Jurors are fully capable of finding facts and applying nuanced statements of the law and crafting reasoned verdicts.Keep this book in your library and refer to it when you hear others fretting about whether jurors can handle emotional or big dollar cases.

1-0 out of 5 stars Depressing
The problem with this book is that it doesn't adress important issues facing our legal system today. If for example Ford motor company manufactures a SUV with a faultly shock system that fails and causes the truck to roll over resulting in serious injury or death, clearly we have an open and shut case where Ford is completely liable and you can certainly bet that Ford is going to make sure that problem never happens again. But that's obvious. Anyone who knows little to nothing about the law understands full well that a company who is found to have a faulty product will increase their standards and work feverishly to fix the product in order to prevent future legal action. Carl T. Bogus has taken simple ideas like those and twisted them around to create a driving force for his political agenda, and baseless political agenda no less.
4-0 out of 5 stars Disciplined Democracy
The author's central argument is that product liability lawsuits are an essential vehicle for enabling citizens to impose societal values on powerful corporations. The market can't do this because the profit motive can encourage corporate behavior that unfairly imposes business's costs on the public. Government regulation is often hamstrung by the pressures powerful competing interests bring to bear on the political process. But, combined with important safeguards built into the judicial process, juries bring diverse life experiences, societal mores, and a gut-level sense of fairness to important issues that impact citizens' lives. The common law enables the community to extract information from hard-to reach places and to provide a democratic check on the powerful. I would say the author made his case. ... Read more

If you're just beginning to prep for the LSATs, this is a great book to start with.No doubt, you will be using several prep books to study for the LSATs.This book compliments other LSAT prep guides. It was insightful re:logic games and reading comprehension.Plus, the book includes 6 exams with explanations for each answer. The exams were extremely helpful.1-0 out of 5 stars Worst LSAT book out there
In preparing for the LSAT, I have used a wide variety of study guides--10 Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests, 10 More Actual Official PrepTests, Kaplan's LSAT 2004, Kaplan's LSAT 180, Princeton Review's Cracking the LSAT 2004, and this one.In comparison, this book offers you NOTHING.The practice tests are not in the same format as on the LSAT, the questions are often nothing like the ones you see on the real tests, and, as everyone who has reviewed it has said, there are basic editorial errors throughout.Don't waste your money on this book.If you want to do well on the LSAT, this is the way to study:1-0 out of 5 stars terrible

From the perspective of someone who has just decided to start law school and has been reading some pretty dry law school stuff, this book was great ... very refreshing!McClurg obviously loves his chosen career, but is able to see the humor and irony in legal education and the field of law.
