why are japanese so evil?
Japan has committed some of the world's worst atrocities in history (nanking massacre, unit 731, batton death march, comfort women, pearl harbor, ect..) and they still refuse to apologize, compensate, or make an accurate history in there textbooks. Why is Japan so cowardly and instead try to make their amends to their victims of the horrible crimes against humanity. No wonder people call Japan a "devil" race.
Book Contains Great Facts, but Lame Excuses
The most outstanding attribute of this book is its honest depiction of Japan's atrocities.The description of these horrific onslaughts surpasses similar titles in some portions of the book. OK

has a good part on the legal status of the divided states
Few books on international law ever touched upon the problem of the legalstatus of the divided status. Yet Prof. von Glahn has a sectionspecifically devoted to the discussion ofthe problem of divided statesunder international law. too expensive for its worth
The author wastes 3 chapters trying to have the fittest explanation of international law's legitimacy. However, there is no need to dwell on such reasons and waste valuable space.The case studies were very crucial forevery international law undergraduate, therefore, they were very usefultools in developing the analytical skils of readers. Excellent first book to understand the EU!
For anyone wanting to get a first taste of what the EU is all about, this is a 'must read' book. The contents have been carefully categorised such that the reader is gradually introduced to the various facets of the EU. I must add though that some of the topics do not go deep enough but perhaps the real aim of this book is only to get you on the right track in your journey to find out more about the EU. But nevertheless 'chapeau'.

Very informative, but pretty bland!
I recently read this book for a European Politics Today class, and the teacher warned us ahead of time that it would be "hellish."It wasn't exactly hellish, but it definitely doesn't excite the reader like A Wider Europe by Michael Baun.For a pretty detailed overview of the history and workings of the European Union, this book could not be better, though. ... A Clear Vision of History
A NEW DEAL FOR THE WORLD is an excellent and timely book, incisive in analysis and gracefully written. It demonstrates how the imperatives of the New Deal and expanded outward into international affairs. Beginning with the Atlantic Charter (1941), Borgwardt captures the idealistic aspects of that document, while also indicating how American ideals and policy have worked in the postwar world - sometimes with good, sometimes with problematic aspects. Borgwardt stresses the importance of ideas, and she anchors her work in political and foreign policy history. She is learned on all counts. People are alike all over
The first thing that hits you looking through this 3 volume set is how ready, willing and able the human race is, world-wide, to kill, kill, kill. If the human race was a car, it would have been sent back to the factory, the schematics destroyed, and the engineers would have started all over again from scratch! Serious design flaws.

Useful study of the laws of war in relation to recent conflicts
In this book, Dr. Michael Byers, who holds a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Global Politics and International Law at the University of British Columbia, looks at aspects of the international laws of war, particularly in relation to the US-British wars against Yugoslavia and Iraq. In Part 1, he examines the United Nations Security Council's role in matters of recourse to force. Exceptional Read
This book is a must-read for any student of International Affairs. By providing historical and present-day examples of international and transnational relations among states, Dean Slaughter brilliantly lays the framework and provides justification for a new disaggregated, effective, and just world order. Both synoptic in organization and substantive throughout, this book will prove valuable to all readers regardless of political affiliation or school of thought.

This excellent, thought-provoking analysis covers a widespread but little studied shift in the way the world works. The advance of international communications, technology, economics and finance networks has had an unmistakable effect on business and industry. The ways states function has also changed - shifting the operation of the world order. Author Anne-Marie Slaughter, dean of Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, is on expert ground. She asserts that networks of financiers, regulators, judges and even legislators can solve problems that would be intractable if left only to traditional states and familiar international organizations. She provides many examples of such networks, notes the criticism against them and suggests norms to govern their conduct. Her book is not light reading. Readers need some familiarity with international organizations and institutions (sometimes cited by unexplained acronyms), but we highly recommend this book to sophisticated observers of international policy. ...
