Absolutely the best
Fisher provides the absolute, hands-down best text out there for basic crime scene work.This is the one that is in everyone's bookshelf - we even keep all our old editions!When I began working in crime scene investigations, this was my 'go-to' reference, and several years later, I still read through it every once in a while to keep fresh.I teach part time, and this was the book my co-instructor and I suggested that we use for our basic and advanced crime scene classes - thank goodness it's our new text!I can't wait to share Fisher with our students.Invaluable book.

classroom textbook
it is a good book and it helps me keep up in class.I like looking at the pictures.I also like how real crimes are described to give examples.

For Forensics Buffs
This is a great book for ne body interested in knowing more about forensic science, it has a great overview of many different aspects of this varied area and the case studies make for some interesting reading, its set out in away thats easy and clear to understand, I left my copy lying around at home, and was amazed at the how many people picked it up to flick through and then couldn't put it down (including my brother and he hates to read!) Disappointed
In the beginning of this book I found it a bit disturbing; however, I pressed on and I was glad. I soon came to be highly disappointed by this book though because it seemed so cliche` in the fact that almost every drugged out junkie seems to find a god and heal themselves; then discuss it for 15 chapters. Aside from that fact, almost 3/4 of the book was about doing various drugs, I felt it was drug out too long and could have been summed up in fewer chapters. It got to be monotonous and tiresome reading about the authors junkie habits over and over again. Although the book had great potential and could have been one of the greats; I felt it became monotonous.

Cupcake Brown is, without question, an amazing woman who has risen from the ashes by her bootstraps to become a highly respected, influential lawyer and professional speaker.She has many important life memories to share with her readers; however, her memoir, as a whole, is a poorly edited, slightly-rambling account of a troubled youth and early adulthood.I'm not begrudging the author her success, or her well-deserved acclaim, but as a book, her memoir is sub-par.
There is a God!
If you do not believe in God or a higher power, you will after reading this book. This book is not a religious book but a testement to having a purpose in life, even when you dont believe or know you have a purpose. She does not through God in your face but from the troulbe teenage years you know that something greater than herself and propelled her to the point where she is now. Great Book No serial number for online part
I bought this book from Amazon recently, they have been great about getting it resolved but from what we can tell after having replaced twice the serial number that they mention on the book is not included in any of the books Amazon has in stock.

Perfect for Commuters
The two hour plus commute I endure every day to get to school has forced me to get ultra-creative in my study methods. Sum and Substance CDs in general have been a godsend. The Civil Procedure set in particular is easy to understand, meticulous,entertaining enough to keep one's interest, and follows right along with the classic two semester first year civil procedure class. Now instead of fuming silently over wasted time, I can anchor my knowledge while I ride.

A must have for any First Year Civil Procedure Student
Don't make the mistake I made and wait until second semester to buy these Arthur Miller cds.Spend the money up front and between these cds (and the Glannon books) you will be set and you'll find it was well worth it right from the get go.The cds got me through all the tough topics and made Civ Pro one of my favorite subjects. Miller trudges through all the big items in an easy, sensible way with very clear hypos, and a sense of humor that totally grows on you.His teachings stood out in my mind so many times during my final and honestly think I would have been in a terrible position without these cds.

A Great Reference Book for Small/Home Based Business Owners
It is rare to find a great tax book like this - easy to read, understand and implement, with all authorities referenced. The information in this book is literally worth a ton if taken to heart and implemented - especially for small and home based business owners. A dollar saved by reducing taxes is worth much more of income generated. Pay the price of learning and implementing the concepts laid out in this book - I am confident you will be glad you did. Highly Recommended.

Deep content, but terrible style
First, I should note that The Wealth Of Networks is terribly edited. Given that Benkler thanked his editor for his Herculean work at the beginning of the book, I can only imagine the state it started in; as it is, it ended with glaring grammatical errors, including using "effect" when he meant "affect" and "wave" when he meant "waive". (I'll provide specific examples sometime tomorrow.) Editing, apparently, is a craft that is only noticed in its absence. I didn't realize this until I read The Wealth of Networks. By the time I was done with the book, I was copyediting every page.

Great book!
The class was great and the book was great. Give you real life cases so you understand material. Gives you information on how the US compares to other nations. Also has funny facts and snippits of funny cases. Highly recommend, can learn a lot!

If your idea of forensics is CSI on television, this book is not for you.If you are studying forensic science, or need an excellent reference book, by all means - buy it.This book gives one a strong foundation, and the photographs are an excellent source of information, of which to look at after reading the descriptions.

This seems to be pretty good, comprehensive, and easy-to-read text on forensic pathology... but there is *nothing* at all on gunshot wounds... not even basic guidelines on entrance and exit identification.You have to buy his separate text on gunshot wounds to get anything on the subject.This book is cheaper than Spitz and Fisher, but when you find that there is nothing on gunshots, the price advantage is lost. ... Repetitive and Too Big
This massive back-breaker of a casebook is seriously in need of major editing.The cases were frequently repetitive and exhaustive about minute details.The editor would make a point, the following case would repeat it twice, and then the editor would again repeat it following the case.
Terrible Editing
The whole point of buying casebooks like this is to have handy a collection of the most pertinent points of relevant cases presented in an effective manner that makes sense.That said, Sullivan (who FAILED the CA bar exam) does a horrible job editing, and fails to make a decent casebook.

More importantly, why am I writing this?If you're considering this book, you'd better be in law school.In that case, you're probably obligated to buy this book for your Con Law class, which begs the question in the title of this review.You're buying it anyway! Stop wasting time on the internet and get back to work (oh, the irony).

Good overview of business law
I realize that many of you buying this book won't have a choice about it--it's probably required for a class you are taking and don't much care how good or bad the book it because you need it regardless. However, for those of you who do have a choice: Current, Thorough, and User-Friendly
In my opinion, this is the finest business law textbook on the market.It contains well-edited cases for discussion, cogent analysis of policy and legal history, and easy-to-read flowcharts that help students go through the legal reasoning steps.Read more

The Devils Highway
Not being a avid reader ,if a book doesn't interest me in the first few pages I put it away. This certainly was not such a book. Written by a Mexican American I expected the story to be slanted toward anti immigration only to find a balanced view of the Border situation from the prospective of those desperate to make a better life for their familys, to the Border Patrol and the almost impossible job before them. Two things that stand out are the compassion of the Border Patrol and how the immigrants are so often preyed upon by their own people. A must read before making a judgement about our border situation and the people who live {and die} there.

Misplaced Sympathy for an Invading Army
It seems like this book has appeal for the come one, come all immigration proponents and multiculturalism fanatics.I take no joy in hearing the stories of human suffering, whether it be south of the border or elsewhere, but there is a heavy cost for allowing millions of mexicans into America.Many locales with large illegal immigrant populations have seen a sharp increase in violent crime and gang activity.

Excellent - Best Contracts Supplement Out There
This review is for Emanuel's outline, not Crunch Time (though Crunch Time for Contracts is also excellent). This is the best Contracts supplement out there and probably the best Emanuel's outline as well (rival = Emanuel's on Con Law). VERY thorough (almost like a hornbook in this respect). This is what you need for Contracts. Someone sent me this by accident after I had been using Gilberts for a few months. I thought I didn't want it because I already had Gilberts and some other supplements, so I put it on the backburner for awhile while I used Gilberts. Then I started taking a look at it once every so often when I was still confused after reading Gilberts (and other stuff). I started to realize that this book was much better than Gilberts, so I put Gilberts on the backburner. (Gilberts is good, but this book is much more thorough and just better overall.) One of the most necessary law school supplements.

very solid supplement
I bought this outline and also Gilbert's contracts outline, and this one was better in several important ways.One that sticks out in my mind is UCC provision 2-207, which relates to "battle of the forms," which is one of the most difficult topics to master in Contracts.While the surface-level issues may be apparent to everyone, the more subtle implications are not covered well in Gilbert's or in the official comments in the UCC (despite substantial text).If you don't know 2-207 extremely well going into your final, you should be worried at a minimum.Emanuel's treatment of this and most other topics is quite good, and it is consistently better than Gilbert's for Contracts.

good overview
I like the Emanuel Outline because it spells out the rules for you and what you need to know.I read the cases, then go back and read the section it relates to - its really helpful for class if you get called on, and for preparing an outline.I have tried 2 other types of study guides - I find I like this format the best. ...
