I think there are better books to use
This book is not for the person just getting an intiation into school law.It is too condense and only gives blurbs of the verdicts in each case by quoting the appellate and US supreme court judges which are oft times convoluted, the author leaves out an indepth explanation of the nuts and bolts.I refer to this book as the Reader's Digest version of school law.Also, the print is microscopic which is really hard on the eyes.

How good can it be?

This book is great for LA's learning the ropes.
I really love this book.I've been a Legal Assistant for only 2 years and I find that this book gives a clear understanding as to the how and why legal documents are prepared. Especially when preparing documents with 3rd party defendents/plaintiffs and also headings for Infant Compromise cases. I've added it to my Legal Reference Library and sit's on my desk with my CPLR.I'm currently in school working on my associates degree in Paralegal Studies and at the ripe "young" age of 48...I think I've found my niche.

What a Great Helpful Book
This book is so wonderful and helpful.I just started working in a law firm doing litigation and I knew nothing.This was a total foreign language to me.The book is laid out so easy to read and is so interesting it keeps your attention.I highly recommend this book to everybody.Even just to keep as a reference book.It is very helpful.I hope one day they make a Strictly New York book.

It's Secured, what do you want?
This one does not include the recent code changes, however I didn't find those changes drastic enough to make a difference in my Secured class, but then again, we were forced to review Burt Reynolds bankruptcy case in its entirety. For general purposes, understanding basic concepts, this review is fine, just don't forget to study and know the Code updates!

Great help in Evidence class

Excellent - Best Contracts Supplement Out There
This review is for Emanuel's outline, not Crunch Time (though Crunch Time for Contracts is also excellent). This is the best Contracts supplement out there and probably the best Emanuel's outline as well (rival = Emanuel's on Con Law). VERY thorough (almost like a hornbook in this respect). This is what you need for Contracts. Someone sent me this by accident after I had been using Gilberts for a few months. I thought I didn't want it because I already had Gilberts and some other supplements, so I put it on the backburner for awhile while I used Gilberts. Then I started taking a look at it once every so often when I was still confused after reading Gilberts (and other stuff). I started to realize that this book was much better than Gilberts, so I put Gilberts on the backburner. (Gilberts is good, but this book is much more thorough and just better overall.) One of the most necessary law school supplements.

very solid supplement
I bought this outline and also Gilbert's contracts outline, and this one was better in several important ways.One that sticks out in my mind is UCC provision 2-207, which relates to "battle of the forms," which is one of the most difficult topics to master in Contracts.While the surface-level issues may be apparent to everyone, the more subtle implications are not covered well in Gilbert's or in the official comments in the UCC (despite substantial text).If you don't know 2-207 extremely well going into your final, you should be worried at a minimum.Emanuel's treatment of this and most other topics is quite good, and it is consistently better than Gilbert's for Contracts.

I like the Emanuel Outline because it spells out the rules for you and what you need to know.I read the cases, then go back and read the section it relates to - its really helpful for class if you get called on, and for preparing an outline.I have tried 2 other types of study guides - I find I like this format the best. ...
