Excellent Resource
I think the book really pinpointed all the pertinent information that a new nurse consultant needs in order to begin. Although the text does cover how to begin your business; I do suggest that you buy a recommended book on how to market yourself in order to be successful in practice.

Brilliant!
I am a college student studying to be a medical assistant.I had to write an essay on a specific medical lawsuit for my class "Medical Law and Ethics."I have not read a nonfiction book in years, but once I started reading this book I could not put it down.It is so stimulating, exciting, and brilliant.Mr. Werth had little to work with since there was no court room drama.He did a spectacular job with the resources he had.He is indeed an intelligent writer.I wish him well.

Well written, a gripping story and balanced.I am teaching a course on medical malpractice at the local law school.This book is the text.It provides a frame work to discuss numerous issues and the potential impact - or more accurately non-impact - of many tort reform proposals.

An Excellent Text for Adoption in a Bioethics Course
I adopted this text in a graduate-level bioethics course for dual-degree medical students to introduce students to the leading legal cases that have proved so influential in the field of bioethics.(I used this text to supplement more philosophical-ethical-type readings.)At the end of the semester I was surprised by the number of glowing comments I received from students about this text.The text is structured along the lines of a law school case book.Most of the classic cases in bioethics are represented, as well as leading cases of relevance to medical practitioners.The author's introductory comments to each topic situate the cases in their historical, social, political, or legal contexts.I particularly found the notes and questions following each case to be extremely helpful and illuminating, and would often use these to orient and focus class discussions.Academics interested in adopting this text will be interested to know that the author provides, free of charge, an invaluable Teaching Manual to supplement this text (the author's email address is provided in the introduction).This text would be an excellent choice for adoption in graduate-level bioethics courses aimed at medical students, or as a text for a bioethics or health law course in law schools.It would also be suitable for an upper level undergraduate bioethics course in philosophy departments.Finally, this text would also be accessible to the intelligent reader with a general interest in some of the most interesting bioethical issues facing the medical and legal professions today, or to anyone interested in understanding the ways in which courts have addressed these issues.No technical medical or legal knowledge is presupposed by this text. ... Top notch research and enlightening study
I found this book recently passing by the "new releases" section of the library and shortly found myself utterly engrossed so I checked it out.At first I figured it would simply recount a dry history of various episodes of euthanasia but soon found that not only does this book deal with euthanasia, but also with a whole host of other related issues (ideological origins, concepts, etc.) that demand our attention when dealing with the subject of euthanasia.The author does an excellent job of maintaining an objective stance for the most part.This isn't intended as an argument for or against but rather how and why euthanasia and similar issues should remain at the top or our priorities.However, for the record, upon learning the ideological origins and history of the euthanasia movement, its direct link to eugenics, its connection with various unscrupulous individuals as founders and instigators, etc., it becomes very hard for reasonable people to support any vestige of euthanasia.Read more
