This book was recommended to me for a research project on gender and sexuality.As I read the book, I realized that it didn't overlap with my topic as much as I'd hoped; however, I couldn't put it down!Morantz-Sanchez creates a narrative that provides a necessary historical context to really understand the cases she discusses.At the same time, she keeps the narrative simple enough to really engage the reader.I found that I enjoyed "Conduct Unbecoming..." as much as--or more than--I would have if I had read it for academic purposes.

VERY BASIC.... VERY DISAPPOINTED!
As a government employee, I bought this book hoping it would provide some good tips on the federal retirement system.This book may help the new or very unimformed employee, but that's it.Some of the information on government benefits was just plain wrong, which is why it only gets two stars from me.As an example, it states a FERS employee can contribute a maximum of 10% to the Thrift Savings Plan each year.Wrong! An employee has been able to contribute 15% for years and I believe there is no limit in 2006.This is not good information for a book that was updated in February 2006!

The law does not stand still. Look at the author's newer, and more expensive book Cross- Examination: The Comprehensive Guide For Experts. It covers a lot of the same material and is updated on changes.

You can sum up the authors' advice in a few succinct sentences: 1.Tell the truth. 2.Don't exaggerate or embellish the good information. 3.Don't minimize the bad information. 4.Answer the question you're asked, not the one you wish you had been asked. 5.If you're asked what time it is, don't tell them how to build a clock. 6.Don't be arrogant. 7.Don't talk gobbledegook.Say it in plain English. 8.Be courteous. 9.If you don't know the answer to a question, don't guess, speculate, or make up an answer.Say you don't know. 10.Don't try to be an expert in any field other than your own.Read more

not bad
the seller send the book very soon but she give me a wrong one, and then she send me another one, but it was lost in the way. Although she returned my money, but I took a course two weeks without textbook.

7th Edition pulls itself into the 21st Century
Having had to wait many weeks for the new, revised 7th Edition I was very pleased to note the improvements made from the 6th Edition. The color examples, universal legend symbols and easy paragraph read for the student are excellent. Another long awaited addition is the expanded Medi-Cal section (applicable to California only). Having been in the industry for 25 year I can say that this is the best Billing book on the market that I have been able to find. The only down side to this book is that it is not written for the "new" biller, but more for an intermediate to experienced biller. As long as the instructor can "dumb down" some of the excellent explanations, students will learn a tremendous amount from this book. I use it in my classroom along with my own material and the students are leaving the class with a well rounded knowledge base. Over all, I am pleased with the new Edition and it's contents.

Lots of info, perhaps too much.
I felt a little bogged down by all the information contained inthis book.It seemed too detailed and included a lot of stuff thatdidn't really apply to just medical insurance (for example thecomplete hypocratic oath which doctors take)! Overall, it was a pretty good book. It would have been a great book if they had cut out about a third or even half of the information.I thought Guide to Medical Billing, by a company called ICDC was much better. A lot of the pertinent data without too much extra.I also liked a book called The Medical Billing Handbook by Jason Cummings. ... Read more

Not enough details
After reading this book, I was very disappointed that it lacked the details of how to actually comply with the HIPAA regulations in the real world.About half of the book is the act itself which you can download from the US Department of Health and Human Services. The other half contains the background of HIPAA, how to determine if you are a covered entity, and very general information that you can easily obtain by searching the Internet.I would not recommend this book if you are looking for specific details and examples on how to interpret the act and create your own HIPPA compliance plan. ...
