Great book about understanding divorce!
I never thought I'd be in this situation. Divorce is one of those things that happens to other people. With all the emotions surrounding this life changing event, I found it hard to concentrate on the legal and financial aspects of divorce - until I found this book.
Nifty Guide in a Difficult Time
Brette McWhorter Sember's "Divorce Organizer Planner" is quite the useful guide. Not only has she filled it with many helpful forms, she has sprinkled tips throughout the guide's 17 chapters.

Concise, well-written, authoritative
"Nutshells" are not just for slackers who blew off the semester and need to cram at the last minute.I've been consistently impressed with the quality of West's Nutshell series.They're excellent study aids for summary, clarification, and getting the key points and big picture.This one is written by two prominent scholars in the field, the senior of whom (Harry Krause at Illinois) is also the lead editor on one of the major casebooks (Krause, Elrod, Garrison, Oldham, Family Law: Cases, Comments, and Questions).Thus this little book is epecially valuable if your class is using that casebook.

This new (Feb. 2005) edition of this book is highly useful for couples who plan on living together but not getting formally married. Mimi Lyster presents in a very even handed way. I felt comfortable taking her advice. The worksheets made it apparent that we agreed on more than we disagreed on. The fill-in-the-blank samples of the parenting agreement brought us through the process without either of us feeling manipulated.Buy this book.

A civilized voice in an uncivilized battle.
A voice of reason for those willing and able to listen. If you are able to remain calm and fair you may be able to keep the situation stable. The 6 page Index is well organized and the book is worth the $20.00.

Valuable Only if you agree to agree
If the other parent shows up with this book it MAY WORK OUT. If you see the other side as being abusive and uncooperative, that's probably how he or she sees you. This book really tries to help in reaching an agreement, but you will probably end upasking the court for help. ... Read more

Very easy to understand
I found this book to be very helpful to me.I needed to know if mediation was for me.Divorces can be very expensive (I have friends who have gone through them) and I didn't want attorneys to get the better deal.
