Not as legendary as its Civil cousin.
Although the style of the book mimics that of "Represent Yourself In Court" by the same author, its substance is quite thin. It does not seem that sticking with a particular style had helped the author in this case. Many definitions are lacking, both in the body of chapters and in the index. Under the topic "theft" for example, the act of forgery is inferred from misrepresentation or conversion. Then the topic is cut short as if the author had suffered fatigue.Attempting to study a specific topic in criminal law would not get you too far by this book.
Indispensible.
I'm currently busy writing my second mystery novel and can't say how much this book has helped me as a simple guide to getting things right when it comes to police procedure or the court system.It may be a lay persons guide but it either answers my questions or puts me on the right track in finding more in depth information when warranted.The digital edition is especially handy when I'm sitting at my computer because I can keep it open while I'm using my word processing program and refer to it with a simple keystroke.

Well structured and indexed and funny
The law can be a dry and dull read, but these authors have introduced just enough humour to make the effort worthwhile. The names of almost every party in the numerous cases sprinkled throughout the book are puns or double entendres, and some of them are a little tricky to figure out, making for a nice diversion when the subject might otherwise have been tedious. Your best option is to fight it!
First off, everyone makes at least a couple of traffic mistakes (most of them harmless) every time he/she gets behind the wheel.It is just the unfortunate ones who get caught and receive tickets.This is why I believe no one should ever just pay an expensive ticket without knowing the options available.
My case was dismissed!!!
My case was perfect example when this book really shines. I got a ticket for "unsafe turn", didn't violate any posted limits and it was all based on cop's subjective judgement. My first intention was to pay a fine and go to traffic school to clean up the point, but I didn't feel I was guilty and I was looking for some way to prove it. The problem was I didn't know what to do.
Realistic and Empowering
This is a very time consuming process.However, I have been burned so many times by overzealous cops, as at the time I was only able to afford older used cars that were cop magnets.I decided enough is enough, and I decided to fight back, and I never regretted the effort.After you go through the process once, you can use similar techniques with ease.Read more

This book was in a very used up condition.Some pages had stains on it.

I used legalines and casenotes my first two semesters; this one is far superior. It has great chapter outlines, and the case briefs are right on. The analysis sections for each case impressed me too--they usually hit on the same stuff my professor talked about in class. This book has it all---murder, cruelty, history, execution, murder, boiling oil, cruelty, and lots of enigmatically depraved sentences. Mannix is the MAN!nix. The guy can write---he puts these sentences down that are novels in themselves. I've read most of his books, but none of them touches this one for haiku-like brilliance of his prose. He can roll of a description of the most depraved acts known to man with a terseness befitting a VCR manual. Ace stuff.Read more

Great Advice for Newbies and Veteran Freedom Fighters Alike!
Lets face it. Its NOT about safety. Traffic citations - especially seatbelt citations - are about money. And power. And stripping back the constitution. If it were about safety, they wouldn't put so much focus on citations so much, they would straighten dangerous curves, force property owners to cut back brush that causes blind intersections, install traffic control devices where needed and work harder to get the most dangerous class of drivers - those who drive while intoxicated - off the roads and into jails. should be a bestseller
This book isn't just for enforcement people. For someone like me who isn't a law officer and just wants to understand how terrorists and drug traffickers work, this book is great. An Excellent, Deatiled and Highly Informative Work!
I became acquainted with James R. Richard's Transnational Criminal Organizations, Cybercrime, and Money Laundering : A Handbook for Law Enforcement Officers, Auditors, and Financial Investigators when it was used as a text in Utica College's Economic Crime Management Master of Science Degree program in the Advanced Economic Crime as well as the Legal Concepts of Criminal Fraud and Corporate Criminal Liability graduate courses.After quickly thumbing through it, I immediately recognized that it truly contains a bounty of useful, pertinent and relevant information. More Complex than Poverty = Crime
Professor Reiman's book goes beyond what is perceived as the usual worn out academic argument of blaming crime on poverty. The book is very clear that the problem of crime is much more complex than a simple correlation of "poverty causes crime." The main point of the book is that capitalism causes crime. Capitalism also causes poverty, but further, capitalism causes greed and power. Reiman makes an important move (though not the first one to do so) by looking into white-collar crime and how the rich are getting richer by breaking serious laws that have a huge impact on our economy and our society's general quality of life; while the poor are getting prison for committing crimes with far less macro ramifications for society. White-collar crime is linked to poverty only in the since that without poverty, white-collar crime would not be possible. This takes us back to the position that capitalism causes crime. However, Reiman is careful not to be a believer in utopian ideals. There is no suggestion in his book that crime would disappear if our society were to move toward, or become, a just society. The point is that crime would be less necessary if poverty and greed were not social norms. Gnius
I found Reiman's work to be of high scholarly value to any critical thinker regardless of field.He willingly unravels myths that have long banded our eyes to the deeper anomalies and injustices of this 'criminal' 'justice' SYSTEM.Hopefully, others in related fields will follow his example, not readily accepting the obvious impression as a true impression, but to test what is a real image and what is distorted.
