1-0 out of 5 stars Grace is a loud mouth airhead.
The woman just yells and tells people they are idiots both in this book and on her CNN show, She offers no helpful suggestions, she is just a loud mouth airhead nothing else.

1-0 out of 5 stars Oh, boy. . .
She's opinionated, ignorant, prejudicial, arrogant, and, yes, bitchy.Nancy is PROOF anybody can be a lawyer; Nancy abuses the power of the microphone. If you want to see how the justice system DOESN'T work in America, this is a good read.If you want to see how the justice system DOES work in America, it is a good read.If you want to see WHY the justice system doesn't work, just look at the Author, here. . .

1-0 out of 5 stars Nancy is both ignorant and opinionated--an appalling combo
Nancy is so blinded by her agenda--attacking defense attorneys and defendants--that she manipulates or ignores facts that are contrary to her extreme views.I have rarely heard anything worthwhile come out of her mouth on CourtTV, and this book is no different.I hope readers (and CourtTV viewers) who are less informed about the judicial system (I am a lawyer) realize not to take anything she says at face value. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Ok book but File System Forensic is better
I liked this book, but it is scattered in its topics.A lot of the information can be found online, and the tools aren't what we use on a daily basis.I'm not sure if any of them are commercial tools in this book.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best incidence reponse book out
This is no doubt the best incidence reponse book out. I highly recommend this for anyone either in the field, learning to get into the field, or running a small to medium sized company without a team of experts. My entire network admin team uses this as a reference at the side of their desk.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent basic reference
I read the book in about three days and found it to be a good primer for one leaning towards computer forensics. While some of the technology and tools described in the book will undoubtedly change within the next few months, a lot of the basic principles will remain pertinent for a long time to come.I heartily recommend this book for anyone with more than just a casual interest in Computer Security. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A must for criminal procedure.
This supplement is a must.It will save you time and energy. Bloom and Brodin give clean definitions for 4th amendment, 5th, and 6th. A friend of mine who passed the July 05 CA Bar (on the first attempt), used this book as her sole preparation for criminal procedure essay section. The checklist located in the appendix will ensure that you will not miss any issues.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great supplement but bad teacher
I just used this book to help me study for my CrimPro exam.I thought it was very, very helpful, but only because I had read my casebook and attended class all semester.Unlike Glannon's CivPro E&E (which is a MUST-BUY for any 1L), this book would not have been valuable if I had opened it during the semester; it was only valuable before my exam as a review. It does not provide insight into why the Supreme Court decided certain things; it simply gives us the rules the Court spat out with a miniscule amount of justification, if any.Your casebook and professor would likely discuss the reasons why the Court decided the way it did and why the concurring or dissenting justices reasoned the way they did.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not a helpful study aid
This book was a real disappointment compared to others in the examples and explanations series. Most of the examples were simply cases that if you had studied at all you would already know.If you didn't bother to do the reading for your class, then maybe it would be helpful. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Dressler is a fantastic presenter
Dressler presents Criminal Procedure (and Criminal Law in his other CD set) with style and an obvious interest in the subject.I have listened to a number of other CD sets on various subjects in the law and this one ranks at the top (along side Mary Cheh's Con Law and Finz' Torts.)I recommend this for law school, bar review, and practioners looking for a nutshell account of the subject.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent.
Great exam review. The prof is clear, concise, comprehensive and easy to listen to.He hit everything we covered in Crim Pro.These are as good, if not better, than the Mary Cheh does Con Law CDs. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Careful, unbiased review of the evidence
There is nothing casual about this book's consideration of racial bias in the criminal justice system. The authors offer a very careful, balanced and thorough evaluation of racial bias in the various stages of the arrest, sentencing, incarceration, etc. based on a comprehensive consideration of the evidence from numerous studies. What is so striking about this study is that the authors are able to describe this evidence in a very understandable way that should be accessible to the general public. They find that while some areas of the criminal justice system are racial discriminatory, others are not. An excellent book!

3-0 out of 5 stars Informative - YES; balanced and unbiased - NO!
I purchased this book as recommended supplementary reading for a college level criminal justice course. The book is advertised as "Comprehensive and balanced" and "uniquely unbiased" on the back cover.I was hoping for a book that honestly and objectively presented both sides of the debate regarding race and crime.I am not qualified to debate the accuracy of the data presented, or to argue that the authors are incorrect in their charges of discrimination in the criminal justice system. However, the book adamantly asserts that discrimination is responsible for the disparity between races in the crime data and casually dismisses opposing arguments. The authors presentation is neither balanced or unbiased. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars practical, detailed and helpful
In this appropriately named "Checklist and Field Guide" Vernon J. Geberth distills the complexities of criminal investigation into a series of helpful checklists and charts. The reading is informative (though not always engaging) and he provides a necessary resource for law enforcement personnel as well as a helpful guide for authors writing books involving criminal investigation or police procedures.

4-0 out of 5 stars Really good!
This book caught my eye in the library and I plan on buying a copy for my own shelves. It makes an excellent, basic reference book. But,I have many problems with the editing of this book, particularly toward the end (pages 246 and 254); unfortunately, that happens in many, many books: a lazy editor reads half or two-thirds of the work and thinks, this is pretty good, and then drops the entire matter.I have found, as an editor myself, that the second half of a book is usually of poorer quality than the first half. Nevertheless, as a reference, it is a great jumping-off point, if you are so inclined.

5-0 out of 5 stars Helpful and interesting
I am using tis book frequently for reference in my quest to write aseries of mysteries. It has been very helpful.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great starting reference
As with all the "for Dummies" books, Forensics for Dummies is a great, quick reference and a wonderful starting point for anyone interested in the field.Written by a doctor and full of information that will surely entice anyone who is a fan of crime investigation shows, the book is laid out well and progresses through the entire method used by forensic scientists.
