Don't rely on this book for an online course
This book is filled with information but is not easy to follow. The ethical questions do not provide answers which leave you wondering if your own conclusions are accurate. The format tries to cover too much information without going in debth about anything.I used this book for an online accounting class and it was of very little help to me.This truly was one of the worst text books I've ever used.

A Great Reference Book for Small/Home Based Business Owners
It is rare to find a great tax book like this - easy to read, understand and implement, with all authorities referenced. The information in this book is literally worth a ton if taken to heart and implemented - especially for small and home based business owners. A dollar saved by reducing taxes is worth much more of income generated. Pay the price of learning and implementing the concepts laid out in this book - I am confident you will be glad you did. Highly Recommended.

I have 2 small businesses. I own rental property and work freelance. I'm also a professor, so I receive a pay check.

Tad Crawford Does It Again
Tad Crawford has written a whole series of books out of his expertise in the law and creative arts, with a special focus on photography.I'd suggest looking at Tad's other books, too, since this one is more action-focused without extensive explanations of the whys and wherefores of it.
Business and Legal Forms for Photographers
Appears to cover all the bases, including contracts, legal assistance, and many more forms than I ever imagined I might need. Very informative.

An Invaluable Resource
I didn't originally buy this book to "read".I bought it for the invaluable resources inside - the wealth of forms that any photographer needs to protect their work and their business.What makes this book so enticing is you don't have to photocopy, or redesign any of the forms since they're all included on a CD that comes with the book.That being said, I should mention that I was quite surprised at the thorough explanation for each form, and the situations where each form might be needed contained in the book.A person could undoubtedly pay hundreds (probably thousands) in legal fees assembling the information in this book on their own.This book is a photographer's "legal-resource-in-a-book".I highly recommend it. ... This book although it is detailed does not give enough information on how to actualy fill out tax returns.There are many problems in the book but the text does not really help in getting the answers.Read more

Diane Kennedy's the Bomb!
I heard her speak at a recent eBay convention & she's a great speaker with great ideas.The book is a must-read for anyone contemplating selling on eBay.She is a professional with good, sound advice.

Even if you don't have an Ebay business, this book is so informative for those of us who just don't understand the behind-the-business scene. My husband and I have had a business for years and FINALLY, I now understand what the heck an "S" corporation is and why we have one, as opposed to the "c" corp that we used to have. The Book to Get
I've just acquired several rental properties and needed a book that had tax information all in one place. I got a couple other books, but this one is the one that I use all the time. It's easy to read and understand while still explaining the nuances of tax law, and has good strategy and planning ideas for repairs/improvements etc. It also addresses what is and is not deductible as you are starting out (i.e. before you actually buy a property).
A must read!
This is a great book.It has the info, is easy to read and understand.I plan on reviewing this every year.Even if you have someone else do your taxes, it helps you in making business decisions with respect to taxes for your property.

Nice supplement...
I am taking a federal income tax course that uses a textbook which consists mainly of court cases.. and written in hard-to-understand "judicial language". We discuss the cases and go over the problem-solving questions at such a fast pace that sometimes I just blindly jot down notes and try to make sense of them afterwards.
A must for a policy-heavy law school tax class
Clear and concise, helpful explanations. Great for a general tax course. If you are using the ..., Bankman, et al textbook, this is is MUST. If you are studying business tax (unless home/small business), this is not the book for you. Griffith rocks!!!

Tax
This book is helpful in regards to giving you a general overview of the material.However, I purchased this book to better understand annuities, discharge of indebtedness and section 1031 of the tax code.These were the topics that the authors did a horrible job of explaining.Unfortunately, these topics are very important.I have only read up to the start of chapter 3 in this book and I am worried that further reading will only further confuse me.
