5-0 out of 5 stars Use this during the year and at exam time
Good explainations.Good case summaries.Contains Case "Squibbs" in the back - case summaries of major K cases - along with a de minimis and de maximus outline. Also, there are good review questions and tips for what to do when you've only got so much time to study.

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS IS A GREAT CONTRACTS STUDY GUIDE
I used this with the Examples & Explanations by Blum. This is an excellent study guide - very concise - though "big" in size. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a nice collection.
This binder is very well balanced for such a low price. At first, I thought that these contracts would be cheap and of poor quality. However, you can easily customize these contracts to your liking.I would highly recommend these to anyone! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Best textbook I have this semester
I disagree with the other review of this book. The she/her thing is not distracting at all.Compared to my Torts/Property books, this book is very well laid-out.There is plenty of text in between cases to explain the concepts. The main thing I don't like is that some of the cases they include are not on-point except for in dicta.Seems like they should have been able to find better cases that were more on-point.I think this book is also weak on its (jumbled) explanation of damages.Otherwise, I really like it.

1-0 out of 5 stars gender problems
This book is seriously marred by the authors' slavish adherence to the use of the feminine in their prose. You will be driven to distraction throughout this text by the shes and hers which abound. This distraction is particularly unwelcome as you are, of course, trying to learn something else altogether that happens to be a bit difficult. Perhaps another forum would be more appropriate for gender indoctrination - a forum where there isn't a serious purpose to be compromised. If you must work with this text, scan it, OCR it, and then global replace. He for she, his for hers, him for her, you get the idea. Then you've got a workable text. A bit too much work for the price, though, if you ask me. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Typical High Court quality--A+
Great as usual.Includes pictures to help jog your memory about the case (after hitting 100 K cases during my first semester that really helped!), background info about the case that may be just an extra, OR something REALLY important that will clarify the case like no other casebook or canned briefs book can do...

5-0 out of 5 stars A Valuable Resource if Stuck in Contract Legalese
If you've ever received a book contract from a general publisher, it can be a frightening experience. I know firsthand because I have a number of these contracts in my files--which I have negotiated and ultimately signed (and the book was publisihed). Also I know how it feels to be the editor negotiating with the writer or the literary agent, since I'm an acquisitions editor for a book publisher.
5-0 out of 5 stars A very useful and informative book
This book shows you a sample contract then breaks it down and explains every little piece. There are many alternative clauses too, showing you how to retain different rights and territories, handle secondary rights like audio and movie, and so on.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Excellent for writing Author/Publisher contracts from the perspective of the Publisher. Explains each clause in the sample contracts, gives many many variations, and helps protect the publisher from many events that (in my experience) other lawyers/books did not include in their contracts.Read more

Editorial Review

Like any other financial endeavor, professional crafting carries legal obligations and necessitates the formation of good business habits. Authoritative and extensive, this handbook fully explains the purpose and use of 23 different forms, from a contract of sale to a basic invoice to a licensing contract to trademark and copyright applications. Each form is discussed item by item, with instructions for completion. The second portion of the guide consists of tearsheets of the actual forms, which can be photocopied and reused. As an added bonus, the book includes a CD-ROM (for both Mac and PC) containing all the forms so they can be customized and printed as needed. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Crafty
Tad Crawford has written a whole series of books out of his expertise in the law and creative arts, with a special focus on visual arts. I'd suggest looking at Tad's other books, too, since this one is more action-focused without extensive explanations of the whys and wherefores of it.
5-0 out of 5 stars A 'must' for any who would sell - and protect - their crafts
Craftspeople need a variety of business and legal forms to organize and promote their work - and it doesn't matter if you're an amateur or a neo-pro. That's where Business And Legal Forms, in its newly revised second edition, comes in handy: 30 forms on a CD-ROM are accompanied by discussions of contract negotiations, rights, royalties, invoicing and more. A 'must' for any who would sell - and protect - their crafts.
5-0 out of 5 stars Essential Business Book for Craftspeople
This is a very helpful book and every craftsperson who wants to improve their business practices should own this book. I am a professional craftsperson and find the forms in this book extremely helpful in that even if you don't use the actual forms and use an attorney to develop your own agreements, reviewing them makes me aware of what I should do to cover myself legally in many aspects of my shows and sales. It's a great reference. It comes with a CD with digital files of the forms in MS Word, so you can review and alter them as you need to for your specific situation/needs if you want to do them yourself. While I would recommend running them by an attorney if you want something that's rock-solid from the legal standpoint, if you want a starting point, this book is a great tool. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The details on the topic of independent contractors.
You will find a general treatment of the topic of Independent Contractors (IC) in other Nolo guides but if you want a definitive and detailed guide, this is the book for you. All the way from templates of general independent contractor forms on CD-ROM to a thorough analysis of the various aspects of working with Independent Contractors, this book does a great job of discussing in plain English what every Small Business Owner needs to know. There is another Nolo guide on just the different contracts you could use for this purpose but this book contains most of those types of forms.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Overpriced, underwritten
In short, do not spend $100 for this book.It is a basic approach to negotiating the most significant provisions of a telecom agreement. It tells only 1/2 the story when both sides and the thought process are needed to effectively negotiate these important provisions.
5-0 out of 5 stars A layman's book for an esoteric telecom subject
I'm no lawyer but this is a solid book that provides excellent guidance.Telecom in general is pretty complicated but i've learned that the contracts make the technology piece look like cake sometimes.
