5-0 out of 5 stars A Better Book By Far
This is a better book by far than the unfortunately better known INTERNAL BLEEDING.It is certainly more honest. It has the clear advantage of being written by people who know and understand the subject ,and unlike Internal Bleeding, it does not suffer the disadvantage of having been written by physicians who, purposfully or otherwise, seem very intent in obscuring the responsibility for medical mistakes.
5-0 out of 5 stars Truth be told
This book is a well researched, well written must read for all Americans. The authors share their personal story as well as the stories of others who have suffered at the hands of a careless physician. While the stories will break your heart, they may also save your life, or the life of someone you love. While none of us want to believe that those we trust with our bodies and our lives would neglect a sacred trust, the fact is it is happening all too often. This book delivers the message without hype, fear or hysteria.Read it, share it and take it with you.

5-0 out of 5 stars First do no harm
If even one person dies, that is one too many. But it is not just one, not even 10 or 100 patients who are maimed and dying from health care mistakes. As Gibson and Singh reveal, the numbers are much much higher than that. And anyone of them could be you or your loved ones. Medical errors do not discriminate. Everyone is vulnerable even doctors themselves as patients. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Way to Start Learning About Law
This is one of the "how-to" books that are fun to read even if you are not faced with a situation which requires it.This well-written book covers a wide range of legal topics that an American citizen may face one of these days.Much emphasis is placed on things like maritalproblems, parenting problems, employment issues, consumer and creditproblems, etc.Needless to say it does NOT replace a good lawyer when thecase is complex, but the author actually encourages you to "take thelaw into your own hand" and shows you how you can solve a number ofeveryday legal difficulties without hiring a lawyer.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Not just "Elder" Planning
I wish I had read this when I was 20! It provides a bunch of savvy information for any age. It is clearly written, and (surprisingly) an interesting read. I highly recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Elder Planning Review
For each generation it seems that a reference book comes along that becomes the universal guide for the audience it intends to reach.Examples that come to mind are the Farmers Almanac and the Guinness Book of Records. For their intended reader these books are the starting and ending points of the information sought.5-0 out of 5 stars Aging can be humorous
Who would have thought that a topic as seemingly dry and dull as financial and legal planning could be handled in such a humorous fashion while still providing a great deal of helpful information and suggestions for personal planning? This is a book that has important information for everyone, particularly older people, presented in a style that will make you smile. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Simplifications?NOT IN THE LEAST!THIS BOOK WORKS
I got this book back in the 90's due to Medical Bills that Insurance was to pay.Since they didn't, it fell back on me.After reading this book and following it's advice to a "T", it saved me MUCH time & MONEY!Another review states that Cease & Desist letters don't work.I beg to differ and the reviewer OBVIOUSLY hasn't read the book OR know the law. They state that it may speed up "lawsuits" against you.Well, not from ANY "Collection Agency" it won't.This book tells you that once you send a "Cease & Desist" letter that the Collection Agency can no longer pursue you. That is correct and you also GAIN the opportunity to work with the original creditor again who will probably take less than 50% of what the original bill was just to clear it up and get it off of their books.I still utilize this book to help some friends out if necessary. This book worked for me, allow it to work for you and don't let anyone who hasn't read the book tell you that these "letters, don't work...".They DO and they WILL if you need them to.

5-0 out of 5 stars "BACK Off!" is the bane of debt collectors!
A friend recommended this book to me, and I have since recommended and in some cases, loaned it to others. It literally saved me from making a huge mistake -- I still refer to this book from time to time.
4-0 out of 5 stars Very useful book...
Sending cease and desist letters works really well. And, since the collection agency has no rights whatsoever (as most people fail to realize) this bounces the ball back into the court of theperson you actually owemoney to-- stop wasting money giving it to collection agencies which willruin your credit and not pay your debt- instead renegotiate with yourdebtor and save %20 or more-- this book is worht far more than it costs ifyou are in debt and behind in payments. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Life Journey
Diane offers several suggestions for how to read her book, Torah Yoga.My choice has been to read and reread the introduction.I love Diane's emphasis on first things: the word, the breath, attending to the foundation before moving into postures and finding the origins of our life journeys.5-0 out of 5 stars A beautifully written and interesting book...
Raised as a Presbyterian, a competitive swimmer, and a mathematician (order not important), I am not naturally drawn either to spiritual mysticism or yoga. This beautifully written and interesting book, however, has helped me to understand how one could be drawn to those things. My thanks to the author, who obviously cares very deeply about her subject. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars I Think This Book Is Great!
There are three great books on the market today and I say don't shop around any more. The two best bankruptcy books on the market have been written by women. I purchased Peggy Palm's book first and found it very informative and insightful. I'm attempting to the stop foreclosure of my home. I then purchased Tiffany Love's book, surviving financial disasters, to get the bankruptcy forms on CD Rom and then learned that she too filed for bankruptcy and included her legal pleadings. If you want to stop foreclosure, get Ms. Love's book for sure as it is "hands on", but I find myself frequently referring back to the information in Peggy's to gain an additional perceptive. Money Troubles is another great book that provides wonderful information and exceeds the scope of Peggy's book, because it covers everything inside and out of bankruptcy, like Tiffany's book. Which some people I think may find too technical, but if you're doing battle like I am with creditors the information is right on target. All three will cost you less than $100 far less than an attorney's consultation fee. My verdict: Peggy's book for the legal advice, Tiffany's book for insight and roadmap, Money Trouble for everything else even after bankruptcy. The others are crap!

4-0 out of 5 stars Gives a broad description of debt information
I think of this book as a dictionary of options rather than a How To type book. The information is general, but it does list some state specific laws. If you are deep in debt and are looking to get out ASAP, then this book may be too general. However, it will point you in a direction to search for more answers.
1-0 out of 5 stars Too Basic
This book is very basic and gives advice about how to manage money. However the one mistake the book makes is that it assumes that collectionagencies and/or creditors are legitimate and offers no recourse to how todispute charges from less scrupulous companies and agencies. The text fordealing with credit reporting bureaus is very basic. There are moreprecise texts to tell how to clean up your credit report (naturally afteryou have closed the accounts). ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Review of Executor's Guide
I discovered this book in the our city library, and decided to purchase it as I felt that it would be very useful. It covered most of the areas of information an Executor or Trustee would want to know.My neighbor also read the book and some of the subject areas made her decide to go back to an attorney with more questions concerning her current Trust.
4-0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive, if a little redundant
I would recommend The Executor's Guide not only to people who have been (or expect to be) named executors, but to anyone preparing a will or living trust. One of the most valuable chapters, in fact, is designed to help a future executor, by listing information he or shw would need to settle your estate -- bank accounts, location of vital records, etc.For those who are about to go through probate or distribute property held in trust, the book literally gives step-by-step instructions, all with a minimum of legalese and jargon. My only criticism is that some ideas -- even whole paragraphs -- are repeated in different chapters. But if you don't intend to read the book cover to cover, that wouldn't be a problem (and it might not bother you even if you do).

3-0 out of 5 stars Provides A Good Starting Point, But Could Do More
This book does a fine job of providing a basic overview of all steps of the probate process and for settling a trust. It is well organized, easy to read, and provides good sources of additional information.

5-0 out of 5 stars your trustee duties; how to dissect a trust contract,
the book arrived in a timely manner, it was in excellent condition, it met my expectations.

4-0 out of 5 stars Management of IRREVOCABLE Trusts
I was looking for a book to help me manage a living trust for someone who is still living, so I bought this book.Although this book is quite good, it primarily discusses trusts for someone who has already died (when the trust becomes irrevocable).I learned that after death, there is a period in which the deceased person's estate is "settled" (bills and taxes paid) by the executor, then the rest of the estate passes into the trust. From there, the trustee (who may be the same as the executor) can make use of the info in this book.
5-0 out of 5 stars Your Trustee Duties - a must in your library
With all the living trusts out there, this book is an absolute requirement for your library. It will assist you in planning for and then executing your duties as trustee. It combines knowledge from attorneys, case law, income tax code and real life situations. The author has a keen sense ofdry accountant-type humor which clarifies serious situations. Step-by-stephelp, but much more than a simple checklist. The examples will also assistyou in avoiding landmines from failing to fulfill your duties by allowingyou to clearly understand your obligations and a time-line for execution ofthem. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Tough to NAVIGATE!!!!
I have used Turbo Tax since 2002.It is 2006 and I would have thought they would pay more attention to navigation problems. Now I am compelled to say something.Inevitably, each year it is a different problem. They need a QA team.So I tell it to import my info from Fidelity, it seems to run fine.I am pleased.I could not get it to import from another firm, HarrisDirect. So I hit Done so I can enter things manually. Then I get a password for another firm so I try to go back to the import screen but it isn't there. So I hit import from the file menu. Then it puts me in HarrisDirect and will not let me out. When I hit Done, it appears to have lost my Fidelity info.

4-0 out of 5 stars Want to protect yourself!
Author Goldstein has been an asset protection attorney for many years. His first book, Asset Protection Secrets, was a best seller. This one is for everyone: people with money; people with little assets but they don't want to lose them; young and old; married, divorced and single; savvy or naive.
5-0 out of 5 stars I Only Wish I'd Had this Book a Few Years Ago
This is a book that I wish I'd had (and paid attention to) some years ago, that is, before being sued for divorce. I then had to learn what he says here through talking to attorneys (at $much per hour this is an expensive approach) and by writing my ex-wife big checks (but I got sole custody of the kid so it was worth it).
