Great Legal Guide / Reference
This book is incredibly thorough and it even points you to the relevant statutes in your state so you can look up the relevant laws. It is a great book. One thing to note is that all forms that you could want to edit are included on the CDROM as RTF files editable in any word processing program--a previous reviewer was wrong in saying that only PDF files were included on the CDROM.
Unuseable PDF forms
This book seems to have a wealth of information and includes a CD with numerous forms, the Word documents are very useful.The PDF forms are not.The problem is none of them are editable.Why even include them?Why not creat them in Word format?This is unsatisfactory and a complete waste of time.Why even provide the forms electronically if you can't customize them, you might as well buy a book with the paper forms and photo copy them.

A great resource for understanding differences in trusts
This is one of the best books I have found on the subject of trusts.Most books on Wills only talk about Living Trusts, but this book outlines how some of the richest (and not so rich) families use Trusts to protect family money.It also discusses the downfalls of this practice, including causing legal battles for your next of kin.This guide not only explains trusts and living trusts, but also goes into details on being an executor, going through probate, handling executor fees and it discusses common problems within wills and trusts.There are many examples of legal cases throughout the book that illustrate issues and how they have been resolved by courts.It's definately worth reading if you're trying to get a grasp on the subject.

Why probate is inimical to family wealth and how to avoid it

Tops for the job, just like Reagan
This was just what the doctor ordered. I was able to finagle the business and cajole my parents into leaving everything either to me alone or at least with my hooks in it. Seven children and seventeen grandchildren, all scheming and backbiting to get as much as possible and fritter it away. I had to get some sort of help to get me past the family values claptrap. I mean, how are you going to do your patriotic duty to the economy and keep estates intact and working for the profit of a few? A voice of truth in a complex issue
As Ms Stewart points out in her introduction, the studies that claim to prove that there is no relationship between breast implants and atypical autoimmune diseases prove NO SUCH THING..they were not designed to answer that question. Those often touted studies are actually flawed and biased which any researcher who understands statistical analysis will see. Ms Stewart's approach is not biased, but actually entirely upright and marked with a sense of integrity.She takes an extremely complex and overtly political issue and brings a sense of truth to it that needs to be heard.These many thousands of women are sick because toxic chemicals have been implanted and spilled into their bodies, and that is not a normal event in life.Political posturing has tainted the ugly truth in this issue because interested parties are not willing to lose their financial investment. I applaud Ms Stewart for her important work, which will probably be suppressed and discredited.That's just the way things work in this country, to the detriment of women everywhere.By the way, I had breast implants and I DID get sick from them, without a doubt whatsoever.Am I biased?No, just telling the truth as I experienced it.

Biased account that substitutes sympathy for thought
The book gives short shrift to the many studies (Harvard, Mayo Clinic, Holland), etc.)that show that women with implants do not suffer from the diseases in question at a rate any higher than those without them. Insteadshe talks with the women who have these conditions (lupus, auto-immune,etc.) and allows her sympathyfor them to cancel out the statistics.Although she cites some obscure newspaper articles on the issue, shenowhere citesthe NY Times' Gina Kolata because of the latter's extensiveunbiased reporting of the lack of evidence associating implants with theseconditions.

Life changing book read a little too late
After getting breast implants I was given this book. It changed my outlook on everything. I wish I could go back and get these things as small as they used to be. Don't read this book if you have any employees
I have used Nolo Press books in the past and found them extremely helpful, detailed and precise.So, I was excited to find this title which sounded like it was exactly what I was looking for.And it is just as good as any of the other Nolo Press titles I have seen, so I was very disappointed to find this statement on page 2 of the introduction..."If you have any non-owner employers in your business, this book is not for you."It would have been more helpful if the sample pages had included the introduction, which clearly lays out the intended audience and use of this book.That said, I recommend this to other self-employed people because every option is clearly laid out for your consideration, along with good instructions for taking action on your decisions.It could be called "Retirement Plans for Not-So-Dummies." ... Greenfield's Ending a Letdown
Michael Greenfield makes an admirable attempt build to expose the reading public to a new type prose that utilizes many different conflicts and characters while also detailing much technical information regarding the law. I got this book for Christmas, and really enjoyed it.Although this book is a few years old there is a lot of really good information in its pages.I found this book useful for building the foundational knowledge needed to keep Big Brother out of my business.

This guys HATES catsup, but the book is still great
As the author writes, food is more than nutrients, It is our culture, and thus our laws reflect our cultural attitudes towards food.I picked up this fish-tale of laws by a curator of a mustard museum after I coincidentally attended a mustard festival.Levenson's book requires no pre-knowledge of the law; it provides an exciting, funny, enlightening story of food and our laws.Levenson writes that he toiled at a boring law job until he came across an exciting law case from 1924, in which a man sued a railroad and restaurant chain for requiring diners to wear dinner jackets.Now that was an interesting case (the barbaric diner lost), he thought.It got Levenson on a roll of researching and collecting food laws.The reader is the beneficiary.Read more
