This is a very useful handbook for practitioners and teachers in antritust matters. This volume contents a complete overview of the european common legislation and the principles that orient the national antitrust laws in Europe. The organization of the information makes it an systemait and valuable reference to people starting in this area. The references to the jurisprudence and doctrine produced during the last 40 years is also useful and helpful. It is one of the top books regarding a systematic study about the requirements to analyze monopolistic practices. Doesn't Include Old Article 9
Most classes (such as Secured Transactions) that use this class find the Old Article 9 language useful.This abridged version does not contain that language, and therefore is less useful than it could be.They wanted to save weight, and save the page count, but they cut something that would be quite useful!

Older Edition is just as good
Don't bother getting the new edition, an older edition is just as good, as long as it's after 2001. ... Read more

This is a great introduction to commercial paper!
I have to disagree with the last reviewer. This book was thorough, and handled commercial paper in a simply and easy to understand way. I didn't take commercial paper in law school, and was completely unfamiliar with the lay of the land. This book was an excellent starting point and covered all the basics necessary to do well on the bar exam. If you are like the last reviewer, and already have a solid enough grasp on the subject matter to be able to nitpick discrepancies between different versions of the UCC, then this might not be a good book for you. But if you are simply looking for a solid introduction to the subject, I highly recommend this book. Considering how lost I was in commercial paper, it was a godsend!

This Book Sucks
Don't bother buying this book if your professor teaches the 2004 version of the UCC.I spent hours trying to figure out why one of the chapters was so off base with regard to Accomodation Parties; then I realized the book was dealing with the pre-2002 version of the Code.Brook barely acknowledges the 2004 changes except to note that there are, in fact, changes.Gee, thanks. ... Definitive but boring
I bought this book because it was recommended by the University of Maastricht (Netherlands) as a textbook to study for the entrance exam that must be passed for non-lawyers to take their Master's course in European Law. I also recently saw it as part of the library of the Munich Intellectual Property Law institute - a program I am also considering.
Simply The Best
I used this book in England where it is the standard text.I'm now studying EU law in the US and am struggling through Bermann, Goebal et al (West 2002).Craig & De Burca is a clear and comprehensive exposition of all the substantive EU law.It also provides some structural background on the EU, though admittedly not as much as the Bermann book and therefore possibly not as much as is necessary for a standard US law school course.Nevertheless for anyone who wants a clearer understanding of EU law, I cannot recommend this book more highly.

Revised 9
The revised UCC has not been adopted by most states, and the Revised 9 is only adopted by less than 10 states to date.So depending on where you are from, this book may be either helpful or a bit frustrating.The previous buyer's review is missing this crucial bit of info.

Pain, Pain, and More Pain
I assume you're buying this book becasue you are taking Secured Transactions.I'm sorry.This book is bad.All of the cases deal with old 9 not revised 9 which is usually the current law.You'll read a case- understand it and then they'll say it all changed when they passed revised 9.Prepare to be confused.If you are a professor please be kind, don't force your students to use this book.Any other book has to be better. ...
