A "must read" book for Customs practioners and businessmen!
I served as the Commissioner of the U.S. Customs Service from 1993 until 1997 and was actively involved in efforts to modernize the organization, with the goal of making it the most efficient and effective customsadministration in the world.I regret that this book was not availableduring my tenure as Commissioner.The book is a virtual road map thatoutlines in a clear, concise and organized manner the step-by-step approachthat would, if properly followed, lead any Customs organization to worldclass status.The book is an absolute must read for anyone currently in aleadership position in a Customs administration anywhere in the world.Butit is also very useful for anyone who has an interest in seeing productsand services moved freely and quickly into and out of countries around theworld with a minimum of red tape, but in a manner that is consistent withnational and international law. ... A teaser
Apparently Mr. Pankau thinks his readers aren't savvy enough to realize his books contain just enough information to "make you dangerous", but not enough to follow through thoroughly. I have no doubt that Mr. Pankau makes the majority of his wages by writing books and lecturing.

Useful, Interesting and Surpising
I found this book to be a wealth of information on what information tracks people, is public, or provided to anyone for a minimal fee. I was especially surpised to find information about MYSELF...which is why I bought 'Hide your assets and disappear'.I agree with another review that states that the book is interesting and helps explain how people are traced..but fails to instruct exactly HOW it is you should go about it. I would have liked to have seen a more precise, instructional book...but I still recommend this as a great read.Using the book's advice and the internet I've come across lots of information that has proved useful. It's a small investment with a big pay-off in knowledge. Perhaps he'll write a follow-up where he goes into more detail.I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK and enjoyed it.

After hearing the Author on a radio program I decided to get this book.I was a little disappointed.The book has some great ideas on how to obtain information on people, but the author does not tell you how to go aboutgetting this information.Alot of this book is about the author's personalexperiences, but again he does not tell you how he got the information fromhis sources to solve the case. Very disappointed!
I bought this book when I purchased my first firearm in California, in order to make sure I understood the laws and could own and use my gun legally and responsibly.I was expecting a plain-english explanation of California's gun laws.For example, how do I need to store my gun to carry it in an automobile legally?What are the CA-specific criteria for evaluating legal cases where a gun has been used in self defense?How do I identify national and state forest areas where target shooting is legal?Can a backpacker carry a firearm as protection from wildlife, or will he run afoul of concealed-carry laws in doing so?But none of these questions are answered in the book unless one wants to pore through 90 pages of the actual legal code: there's no CA-specific plain-english explanation at all anywhere in the book.

Information that gun owners really need to know
This book has all the gun laws word-for-word and in plain English too. An absolute must for Arizona gun owners; plain English.
