I ain't saying you a gold digger but...
People only sue other people who have money!This book touches on the important ABCs on avoiding lawsuits, avoid standing out in the broke crowd, and holding assets in anything but your own name without losing control of them.There is a very enlightening section on Life Insurance that was worth every penny in itself.This taps into Land Trusts but for a complete package I found it with Land Trusts by Louis Brown (just be prepared to pay serious $$)because this topic doesn't come easy to me.Never-the-less, this is the book for you if you're ready to protect your ass-ets.
Great Starter Book for Asset Protection
On my first reading of this book, I said, "Huh?"Then, I attended a corporation seminar.Both the seminar and Bronchick's book were instrumental in formation of my expertise in the use of corporations for asset protection for my real estate business.Admittedly, this book is light on details, but the diagrams and examples provided more than make up for that.Besides, you should seek professional advice anyway in addition to this material.
Plain English explanations of complicated subjects
Once again, Mr. Bronchick does an excellent job of taking complicated legal subjects and making them readable for the average person. I am an attorney as well, and I often recommend this book for clients to read as a primer to the subject (especially when I tell them what it will cost for an hour of my time to explain it!).There are a few books on the market on asset protection, but this is the only one that is geared towards the landlord or small-time real estate investor. One caveat for the reader- there are some sample forms in the appendix, but they appear to be for example only.One should always review these concepts with an attorney to make sure the forms are drafted to comply with the client's specific needs and appropriate state law. ... Patent Medicine
Begining with unsupported assertions about the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and overblown conclusions about the consequences of changes in funding for the Patent and Trademark Office, the authors offer cures for diseases they do not understand.
Eloquent
This book presents a clear, concise and convincing argument that subtle changes in U.S. laws starting in 1982 have broken a patent system that was working reasonably well until then. It will be more effective at convincing the average person than most other attempts have been, both because of its style and because it shows that the changes which broke the system shouldn't have been expected to help anyone other than patent lawyers. Their analysis will be useful in helping to avoid the takeover of other agencies by special interests.

Excellent advice, easy to read, to the point
I just read the first 2 chapters of the book and flipped through the rest.This book is fantastic.Ive read other small business help books (likeone by Burstiner) and they were terrible.They put you to sleep and arenot easy to read.Jenkins' book gets right to the point and sums upeverything you need to get started. I didnt have to read through pages ofpointless details that dont nessisarily apply to every business. Thosedetails can always be sought elsewhere if needed and not drag a gettingstarted book under. Recommend it to all my clients--best business book available
If you want to know the ground rules of doing business in California, this book covers it all, in easily understood English, not legalese.FORBES Magazine (11/96) recently did an article on business self-help books, concluding most were not worth the paper they were printed on.However, they cited 4 such books they did consider very worthwhile, and this 50-state series was one of the four FORBES liked. Gripping Legal Drama Makes Great Reading
David Lebedoff is an excellent author.He goes to great lengths to portray factually and fairly the complicated story of the Exxon Valdez oil spill and ensuing trial.Despite the complex legal issues involved,Lebedoff skillfully makes the book read as though it were a novel.I wouldreccomend this book to anyone in need of a good read.

Highly detailed, but misspells a couple of Alaskan places
On March 24, 1989, the 987 foot oil tanker Exxon Valdez ran aground onBligh Reef, spilling 11 million gallons of North Slope crude oil into theonce pristine waters of Prince William Sound, creating the largest oilspill in U.S. history.David Lebedoff offers a detailed account of thespill and the legal wranglings surrounding the record $5 billion judgmentagainst Exxon, a judgment that is still under appeal. Lebedoff attempts toprovide an even-handed look at the spill and the development of the legalcase that grew out of it, but is hampered by the fact that Exxon refused toprovide comment. This is not the author's fault, but readers should beadvised that this book gives more insight into the perspectives of thevictims and their attorneys than it does into public relations strategiesthat Exxon may have employed and so on.Read more
