Masterpiece of Roman History
An must-have for anyone interested in legal history and/or Roman history. Truly a magnificent work. One thing to keep in mind though is that the whole work is published in two volumes and only the first volume is sold here.

Magna Opera Iuris
The Digest of Iustinianus is probably the first masterpiece in the history of Law that untill nowadays is applied in order to interpretate law or even as common law in some places of the globe. The Digest is a recopilation ofjurisprudence, mainly from jurists that lived in the so called late classicperiod of roman law (Ulpianus, Papinianus, Paulus, Modestinus and theclassical but provincial Gaius). However comments of other importantjurists can be found such as Julianus, Alfenus et. al. showing us, ofcourse with interpolations since it was intended as applicable law afterit's composition, all the main context of Roman Law from the post classicalperiod (527).Not withstanding the afforementioned critic, the Digest isregarded nowadays as the most classic book of law, not only romal law, butlaw as a whole. it is a masterpiece and the result of years of hard work ofa commission leaded by Tribonianus. The Digest of Justinian is the numberone book to any researcher on law regardless of the subject. Sometranslations recomended are D'ors et.al (Spanish, Ed. When I bought this book I had no background in Law whatsoever. This book was excellent for me because it is very easy to understand and it provides the reader with examples so that on learns how to apply the concepts being taught. A fabulous book that offers advice for all aspects of senior life.

This book is a must-read for seniors, or those caring for seniors, as it offers comprehensive information on retaining control. Control of finances, health care choices, housing options, personal and home safety, and family issues such as life after the death of a spouse and visitation rights with grandchildren when divorce enters the picture. What I like best about the book are the "senior tips" sprinkled throughout the chapters. Also helpful are the seven appendix sections that highlight forms, state-specific resources, and organizations all working to help seniors live life to the fullest. While I plan to give copies of this book to my parents and in-laws, a copy will remain on my bookshelf.
