Good general advice, but nothing very specific.
This book offers very general advice to laypersons as to how to deal with a myriad of legal issues, from starting your own business to contesting a traffic ticket.However, more often than not, the advice given is so general in nature that I would question whether it is of much practical value to readers.It seems that the favorite advice of the authors is "see a lawyer."Moreover, the authors frequently acknowledge that laws on certain issues vary so much from state to state that it is not practicable to give specific advice on such subjects. In such cases, they recommend that you research the applicable state law.The book is OK for pointing you in the general direction you need to go, but don't expect it to be a comprehensive guide to solving your legal difficulty. ... Worth every penny, but...
This book is worth every penny you'll spend on it.Nearly every page will leave you bug-eyed with incredulity, and many of them will also cause you to irritate anyone nearby as you constantly say, "You're not gonna believe this one!"The appeal of the book derives from the combination of the wackiness of the real-world legal cases Cassingham has selected for examination and his lethal style.He's one of those few writers who can channel Ambrose Bierce, if you see what I mean.
A Frightening Appraisal
Randy really shows many of the idiocies of today's legal system.He doesn't play favorites, writes clearly and concisely, and, perhaps most importantly, he offers excellent suggestions on how improvements can be made.My only criticism is that many of his examples are so new that final dispositions are still in progress.Of course, this also can be used to show the problem with the system is still with us, not a historical relic.This is definitely a book for anyone interested in improving modern society or who just wants to read about some of the unbelievable things people will sue over.

Prepare to say "NO WAY!!!!!!"
I sat there reading this book and I kept say no way, and impossible.Finally my husband made me leave the room.

Terrific Read
I read this book in its entirety the day I received it in the mail.It is an incredible story, one that is told in a riveting narrative.I absolutely could not believe the lengths to which this oil company went to deny, delay, and stonewall the efforts of so many different people and organizations to hold them responsible for an underground oil spill they had undeniably caused.This book was an eye-opener.If you care about the environment, about energy, or about the law, read this book.I hope someone makes a movie out of this thing; it is such a great story.
