Essential reading
This book cuts through the confusion, fallacies and ignorance surrounding antitrust policy.With scholarship and rigor, itanalyzes classic antitrust cases to argue convincingly that antitrust law is wrong in theory and disastrous in practice. Its argumentis nothing less than that antitrust laws should be repealed. This book helped me see things in a different light.
I remember reading this book in an advanced micro economics course at the University of Maine.It struck a chord and helped me turn the page to start questioning the standard fare served up by my professors.TheAustrian analysis continues to make the most sense with respect alleconomic situations and it is books like this that need to be distributedto serious students of economics and philosophy.

Wonderful teaching aid
The Antitrust Casebook: Milestones in Economic Regulation is a wonderful attempt to use actual case law to illustrate the history, past precedents, and current standards of American antitrust law.The cases are excerpted so they only include the particularly relevent portions of a court opinion.Combined with a decent instructor, this book can easily be used to construct a college level class that would be comparable to most law school's antitrust courses.Very beautifully done. ... Very exciting book!
I admit I have not read the entire book, but what I've read so far has been very interesting.Its a book worth picking up if you're interested in Microsoft and/or the Microsoft trial of the late 90s (U.S. v. Microsoft).
US V MICROSOFT
The book does not go into real detail.Everything in the book you could have learned from the nightly news.No new discoveries or anything.Book is filled with Newspaper articles that repeat the same thing over and over again.I dont think they could have mentioned that microsoft owns more than 90% of the worlds operating systems any more than they did.It was on every page!

A very good story.
Looking for an excellent story that seems to deliver both sides of the law suit brought against Microsoft, than this book is a must read for you. The authors take on a delicate subject and give you the best opportunity to make an informed decision.Read more

An excellent analysis of the case
Heilemann has done a fabulous job with this book. The Wired article was really gripping and the full length book is just as difficult to put down! It really makes you wonder what they're thinking in Redmond - at the end of the book I couldn't help feeling that Gates (as Heilemann presents him) seems a lot like Mr. Burns in the Simpsons episode where Lisa teaches him about recycling and he ends 'recycling' all the fish in the sea for livestock feed. He couldn't figure out why he was wrong and Gates seems to have the same difficulty.

whiny
This book is more of a whine session than an informative look into the microsoft case.Poor writing and questionable facts make this book impossible to read.Save your money!
